Yes, it’s definitely makes the life easier with ebook… but its hard not to fall in love with it! The following few artists are just great at making simple things really beautiful
The first one is Brian Dettmer, he was a reason and inspiration for this post:) Dettmer manipulates the pages and spines to form the shape of his sculptures. He also folds, bends, rolls,
and stacks multiple books to create completely original sculptural forms.
“My work is a collaboration with the eaxisting material and its past creators and the completed pieces expose new relationships of the book’s internal elements exactly where they have been since their original conception,” he says.
Guy Laramee, an interdisciplinary artist, is best known for transforming the edges of vintage dictionaries, hardbacks, and encyclopedias into meticulously detailed landscapes with plateaus, temples, mountains, and valleys.
Jeremy May has captured the beauty of paper via a unique laminating process. Littlefly paper jewellery is made by laminating hundreds sheets of paper together, then carefully finishing to a high gloss. The paper is selected and carefully removed from a book, and the jewellery re-inserted in the excavated space.
And at last a book-carpet by Pamela Paulsrud
Upcycling has a large range for creativity and can be sooo differently beautiful:)
